Most voice AI tools — ElevenLabs included — send your audio to a cloud server to clone a voice, dub a video, or transcribe a recording. VoiceStudio is a trending open-source project that does all of it locally.
What VoiceStudio is
VoiceStudio (debpalash/VoiceStudio) is a fully local, open-source alternative to cloud voice AI. It combines voice cloning, voice design, video dubbing, dictation, transcription and audiobook creation in one tool, supporting 646 languages — with nothing uploaded to a remote server.
What it can do
- Clone voices from local audio samples.
- Design and generate synthetic voices.
- Dub video content into other languages.
- Transcribe audio and run dictation offline.
- Produce audiobooks from local text.
Why local voice AI matters
Running voice models on your own machine means your recordings never leave your device, there are no per-minute API charges, and the tool works without an internet connection. For anyone producing voice content at scale, that changes the cost and privacy equation.
